The holidays are here! Are you feeling the heat and stress that often comes with the holidays? If you are, know that you are not alone! There are tons of people who feel the stress this holiday season. In fact, the stress of the holidays is comparable to the stress that you feel when moving and having to get everything packed! With this being said, we want to share some tried and true tips that can you to manage your stress this holiday season. Be sure to pull these tips out when you feel the heat getting to be too much while you enjoy opening gifts and attending family dinners!


  1. Remember that nothing has to be perfect! Too many times, we put the stress on ourselves by expecting the holidays to be perfect. However, there is no such thing as perfection. So, just be happy and enjoy it.

  2. If you know that you will be moving in the New Year, ask people to not get you many things. This way you are not having to pack up more items for your move. This is especially important for those who have already decluttered. 

  3. If you start to feel your temper get the best of you, realize that it may be in the best interest of everyone if you take a step back. Tempers can flare and feelings can get hurt even during the happiest of holidays. 

  4. Be sure that you are being just as understanding as you want others to be of you. For example, if you have someone in your family who has requested gift cards for the holidays since they are moving and don’t want to pack more stuff, then be understanding of this and honor their wishes.

  5. Most importantly, have fun! The holidays only come around once a year, so take the time to enjoy all those around you and the fun to be had. Remember, it is just a few hours and then you can get back to your normal life.
