Did you know that May is considered National Moving Month? During National Moving Month, most moving companies are doing their best to educate consumers on what they should watch out for when choosing a moving company. Here at Quality, we have heard from tons of clients who went with a moving company that was not who they claimed to be. In these cases, they then turned to Quality for their moving and packing needs...but the damage had been done.

There are numerous horror stories out there about people hiring moving companies that were not on the up and up. As a company that has been serving the Long Island area for over 30 years, we hate when people are taken advantage of. That is why we have compiled a number of warning signs that you need to watch out for when finding a moving company for your upcoming move so you do not become a victim.

Warning Signs To Watch Out For

Before you go with a moving company, here are a few things to watch out for and to ask yourself before committing to this company.

1. Have you read any customer reviews? If any company has no reviews, though they claim to have been in business for years, this is a red flag.
2. Do they want a fee upfront for even giving you a quote? If so, stay away! No one should ever pay for a quote from a moving company.
3. Does this moving company have the proper trucks and tools? If you see this moving company come to your home with nothing but a rented truck from Uhaul, this could be a huge sign that you are in for a rude awakening.
4. Do they have a website, social media, etc.? A legitimate company is going to have all of this since we want to be in touch with our community and customers.

Here at Quality Moving & Storage, we are proud to serve the Long Island area, and we are more than happy to prove to our potential customers just how legitimate we are. We believe in being upfront with all things related to a move to ensure you know how this will run and there will be no surprises.
